Plagiarism Statement

Sabiluna: Journal Education and Management is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing all forms of plagiarism and research misconduct.

Plagiarism is considered a serious violation of academic ethics because it undermines originality, scholarly responsibility, and trust in scientific communication.

All submitted manuscripts must represent original work and properly acknowledge the contributions of other researchers.

1. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process.

The editorial team evaluates similarity reports carefully by considering:

  1. Similarity percentage;
  2. Source of similarity;
  3. Context of matching text;
  4. Proper citation practices.

Similarity detection results are not the sole basis for rejection; editorial judgment considers the nature and severity of the identified overlap.

2. Forms of Plagiarism

Sabiluna considers the following practices as plagiarism:

Direct Plagiarism
Copying words, sentences, paragraphs, data, or ideas from another source without proper acknowledgment.
Mosaic Plagiarism
Combining copied phrases, structures, or ideas from multiple sources without appropriate attribution.
Paraphrasing Plagiarism
Rewriting another author's ideas without proper citation or acknowledgment.
Self-Plagiarism
Reusing substantial parts of previously published work without disclosure, citation, or justification.
Duplicate Publication
Submitting or publishing substantially similar research in more than one journal.

3. Research Misconduct

Sabiluna also considers the following practices as violations of research integrity:

  1. Fabrication of research data;
  2. Falsification or manipulation of research results;
  3. Unauthorized use of data;
  4. Manipulation of citations;
  5. False authorship claims.

4. Actions Regarding Plagiarism

If plagiarism or misconduct is identified:

Before Publication

The manuscript may be:

  1. Returned to authors for clarification;
  2. Rejected immediately;
  3. Investigated further by the editorial team.

After Publication

The journal may:

  1. Publish corrections;
  2. Issue expressions of concern;
  3. Retract the article when necessary.

5. Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring:

  1. Originality of submitted manuscripts;
  2. Proper citation of sources;
  3. Ethical research practices;
  4. Accuracy of reported findings.
