Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing

Authors are required to disclose the use of generative AI in scientific writing when submitting a manuscript. The following guidelines apply only to the writing process and do not cover the use of AI tools to analyze data and draw conclusions as part of the research process:

Generative AI and AI-supported technologies may only be used in the writing process to improve the readability and linguistic quality of the manuscript.

Such technologies must be applied under human supervision and control, and authors must carefully review and edit the results, as AI can generate output that sounds authoritative but is actually incorrect, incomplete, or biased. Authors are ultimately responsible and may be held accountable for the content of the work.

Authors are prohibited from listing or citing AI and AI-supported technologies as authors or co-authors in the manuscript, as authorship entails responsibilities and tasks that can only be attributed to and performed by humans.

The use of generative AI and AI-supported technologies in scientific writing must be disclosed by adding a statement at the end of the manuscript when the paper is first submitted. This statement will appear in the published work and must be placed in a new section before the reference list. Example:

Title of new section: Statement regarding the use of generative AI and AI-supported technologies in the writing process.

Statement: During the preparation of this work, the author used [TOOL/SERVICE NAME] for [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author reviewed and edited the content as needed and assumes full responsibility for the content of the published article.

This statement does not apply to the use of basic tools, such as those for checking grammar, spelling, and the reference list. If you have nothing to disclose, you do not need to include a statement.

Please note: to protect authors' rights and the confidentiality of their research, Sabiluna: Journal Education and Management currently does not permit the use of generative artificial intelligence or AI-supported technologies, such as ChatGPT or similar services, by reviewers or editors during the peer-review and manuscript evaluation process, as outlined in our GenAI Policy of Sabiluna: Journal Education and Management. We are actively evaluating appropriate AI tools and may revise this policy in the future.
